इतिहासकारों का ऐसा मानना है कि शाहजहां अपने समय का बड़ा ही बहादुर ,लोकप्रिय एवं पराक्रमी शासक था साथ-ही-साथ वह मुग़ल साम्राज्य का सबसे ख़र्चीला बादशाह था | उसने साम्राज्य विस्तार में कोई कसर नहीं छोड़ी | जिन देशों को जीता, उनकी प्रजा को भी लूट लिया | इस तरह उसके पास अगणित सम्पति इकट्ठी हो गयी |

संग्रहीत पूँजी का किया जाये ? इसलिए इसके उपभोग में उसने खुद और अपनी पत्नी को शामिल किया | जीते-जी तो बैठने के लिए बहुमूल्य सम्पदा से निर्मित तख़्त-ए -ताउस बनवाया | मरने के बाद दफ़न होने के लिए शानदार कब्र के रूप में ताजमहल बनवाया | शाहजहां को स्थापत्य कला में विशेष रूचि थी, इसी कारण उसने लाल पत्थरों से निर्मित लालकिला तथा जामा मस्जिद बनवाया | ये चीजो इतनी बेशकीमती थीं तथा बनाई गई ताकि उससे बढ़कर किसी और की प्रशंसा न हो सके |

तख़्त-ए ताउस (मोर पंख जैसा सिंहासन बनाते समय शाहजहां ने सोचा कि संसार में इससे बहुमूल्य और कोई चीज न रह जाये | इस सिंहासन के शीर्ष पर लगाने के किये उसने ग्वालियर नरेश से कोहिनूर हीरा छीन लिया | तख्ते ताउस में सोने और जवाहरातों कि भरमार थी | मीनाकारी कि जगह बहुमूल्य रंग-बिरंगे रत्न लगाये गए थे | उस समय उसकी कीमत बारह करोड़ आंकी गयी थी,जो आज के हिसाब से १००० करोड़ से भी अधिक होगी |

शाहजहाँ के मृत्यु के बाद यह कुछ दिन ही उसके बेटे औरंगजेब के पास रहा | बाद में यह मोहम्मद शाह को परास्त करके हो विपुल सम्पति हासिल की, उसमे तख़्त-ए-ताउस भी शामिल था | इसे लेकर वह वापस लौट रहा था कि कुर्द लुटेरों ने उसे घेर उसकी हत्या कर दी तथा नादिरशाह कि सारी सम्पति आपस में बाँट ली | तख़्त-ए-ताउस के भी टुकड़े हुए और आपस में उन लोगों ने बाँट लिए | इस घटना के कुछ दिनों बाद नादिरशाह के लडकों ने लुटेरों को पकड़ा और उनसे अपने बाप कि पूरी सम्पति उगलवा ली | जिसमें तख़्त-ए-ताउस के टुकड़े भी शामिल थे | उसे कैसे भी जोड़-गांठकर पहले जैसा बना लिया गया, यद्यपि उसमें से आधे रत्न गायब थे |

अठारहवीं शताब्दी में तख़्त-ए-ताउस संयोग से अंग्रेजों के हाथ लग गया | अंग्रेजी अफसरानों द्वारा उसे पूर्ण गोपनियता से श्रीलंका के त्रिकोमाली बंदरगाह से हल्याँ में चढ़कर इंग्लैंड भेजा गया | ९ अगस्त सन १८८२ को पूर्वी अफ्रीका के पास यह जहाज समुद्री चट्टानों (हिमखंडों) से टकराकर समुद्र के गर्भ में डूब गया और साथ ही तख़्त-ए-ताउस और उसके साथ रत्न भंडार भी | इसके बाद उसे समुद्र तल से निकालने के बहुतेरे प्रयत्न किये गए पर उसमे से यदा-कदा रत्न ही हाथ लगते रहे जिससे डूबने के क्षेत्र का तो पता चला पर तख़्त-ए-ताउस न मिला |

सबसे महत्वपूर्ण और क्रूरतम बात यह थी कि इसके स्तम्भ जो पाने के बने थे तथा इसमें हो पन्ने और रत्न लगाये गए थे उसे बाज़ार से नहीं ख़रीदा गया था बल्कि उसे प्राप्त करने के लिए अनेक सामंतों एवं धनवन्तों के सर कलम किये गए थे |

इसप्रकार, तख्ते ताउस समेत शाहजहाँ की दौलत और उसके द्वारा बनवाए गए इमारतों का हिसाब लगाया जाए तो प्रतीत होता है कि वह अपने ज़माने का 'धन कुबेर' था |

 Murasakies ( 紫) : The Volunteers of ArcAngels

A very warm Welcome to you.

As an ArcAngel, Today, I feel Immense Pleasure and Honor, to tell you about Our Dear "Murasakies ( 紫): The Volunteers of ArcAngels " .

Before we start

Little Info: The Word 'Murasaki' is from the Land of Rising Sun i.e Japan and which in literal terms means "Color Purple".

At ArcAngels, Color Purple Denotes 'Royalty'.

Volunteerism is 'Service done Selflessly' & Without 'Hoping something in Return. Though most of the time , this is regarded as Downtrodden and Characteristic of the Weak. And never given an respectful spot like the feelings with which it is done.

But Volunteers hold a Special Place in Our Hearts and
Importance as of a Royal at ArcAngels thus the name Color Purple - Murasaki.

Volunteers or Murasaki (as we call them), will help ArcAngels on various occasion which include game competition, to awareness campaign.

Before any of our events, we will be announcing the need for volunteers on our Online (Links to the Social Links Blog Page) as well as Offline (Posters, Sms and at Meets) but other than that you can also register yourself, so that when the need arise, we inform you personally, b4 others . For that you can go to any ArcAngels Offices , Booths , Various others Centers and fill Murasaki form & submit it.

Q. What does the “uber” in uberdesi.com stand for?

A. Uber is a German word. Karthik came up with the term uber desi and as you probably guessed Karthik is not of German descent. His only claim to anything remotely German is the car he drives and the fact that he visited Germany recently. Maybe he stayed at a Holiday Inn Express, who knows?

Getting back to the point, uber probably means super but not all the time. We user uber more in a sense of super / very . Uber desi = Very desi/ Super Desi. Get it? I know. That’s really clever of us. The meaning really oscillates between super, very, super cool, awesome and/or (insert superlative adjective) here.

Q. Who is an “uber desi”?

A. Anyone and everyone who is associated with this blog – reader, contributor, blogger – is an uber desi. Why? Because we’ve deemed it appropriate and passed an unanimous resolution to that effect over Sweetwater 420 beer with pizza and hummous-pita.

Q. I studied in a prestigious university in India/US and I would like to be a blogger on your site.

A. Your prayers have been answered. To be a full-time blogger with Über Desi, you must have 1+ year of regular blogging experience, preferably with Wordpress, and must commit to at least 1 post per week. Q. Do you guys get paid by Narain Karthikeyan?

A. We wish he paid us, he could atleast mention us in one of his interviews, we have been writing about him here and over at my old residence. Being a F1 fan from the days when Schumacher was clad in blue it was important and exciting to see an Indian in the highest level of motor sport. If I am right, Narain was the first desi person to drive an F1 car. If Narain does decide to pay us, we can be contacted using theTipster page.

Q.Are you guys related to Sanjaya Malakar/call centers?

A.No. However, we’ve unanimously decided that his sister is uber hot and our single guy bloggers would not mind her company one bit.

Q.Where on earth are you guys located?

A.Currently our writers are located in various nondescript locations in North America on either coast.

Q.What kind of facilities do you have?

A.Unlike most other popular blogs, we could not afford caves, igloos or cool bunkers. Über Desi instead decided on a Tiki hut. Long story short, it came free with 4 barrels of beer.

Besides
a) You know how many barrels you can buy with that kind of money?
b) This location is much closer to our AA meeting site.
c) It was in mint condish.
d) With a mail in rebate, we are getting a cool thatched roof.

As far as facilities, Anantha and the Janitor from scrubs donated a sand castle that houses a well stocked library. Partly filled with books, we use it mainly to store our beer barrels. We get regular deliveries of palm leaves for note taking and our resident Sri Lankan blogger makes some amazing drinks. We also have the SS2.0 the latest that smoke signaling technology has to offer.

The ÜD Ford Model A hoopty is available to regular bloggers and we have just installed a spell checker machine for our punch cards
